I've seen so many interpretations of Spool's Bird Mobile, and if I had a sewing room of my own, I would have made one of these a while ago.
Pattern: Spool's Mister Blue Bird (scrap fabrics stuffed with extra quilt batting)
Other materials: fishing line + eye screws + floral wire + wall garden hanger = $10, sticks from our favorite hiking spot
The hardest part of making the mobile was centering each branch. I don't have any useful tips - it was pure trial and error. Here's a beautiful wall hanging instead if you want to avoid the delicate balancing act. I love that the mobile can be disassembled with very little waste, and the bird softies can be used alone. Since the mini crib is sharing a corner of our bedroom, it's also nice to have something that we adults find pleasant to look at too.

gorgeous!
absolutely adorable and sophisticated at the same time!
I love it! I made one as well for a friends daughter and I agree that the balancing on the sticks was the most difficult part. But yours looks awesome!
i LOVE it! the two swinging branches on the bottom are just brilliant. and congratulations on your impending arrival. How exciting!
It's beautiful!
I made one with just a single long branch hanging in front of the window. I found that the balancing act was too much for my patience. :)
Too fun! I may have to make one of these for our little one to arrive late March, yay! I love birdies!
i made a few of these birds for gifts, but putting them in a mobile like this is brilliant! beautiful work!
That is such a good look.
Fabulous! I love it--but oh dear, another must-make to add to the list! :)
