My husband plays classical guitar in his free time and has been using a pitiful arrangement of a pillow and folded quilt to sit on. This weekend I made him a cushion in this sky blue Amy Butler Lotus fabric, which reminds me of spanish tiles.
I wasn't sure how to make the cording, but with the help of my new-to-me 1976 copy of Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing (thanks mom!), I discovered it wasn't all that complicated and just slightly more time consuming, requiring careful calculations for seam allowances. Instead of a zipper, I used leftover velcro. It's sized 16" x 16" x 4" and required only 1 yard of fabric (though I did not properly cut the cording on the bias since I only had one yard). I matched the patterns on the front as best as possible, and I'm pretty thrilled with the result.
