The first of the pieced tops for
my quilt is complete. Cutting the the individual print fabrics is the most tedious task, especially if you try to conserve fabric. I made a cutting template sketch and cut the entire amount I needed from each fabric, then cut each piece individually. The white background was much easier to cut in mass quantity.

Chain piecing the blocks was a breeze, since I kept all my pieces stacked in order. The blocks are laid out in alternating darker prints and lighter prints. I think this helped with the balance and movement of the patterns. Placing a pin in the top of every block made sure none were accidentally rotated when sewn together.
On to piecing the other side...

Oh wow, that quilt is stunning. It will look so good on your bed. I really love that pattern, very modern yet also classy. It is really tempting to make. I can't wait to see the back. Love Stacy
What a great quilt design to really show off the fabrics. This is the first of that pattern I have seen using white for the backgrounds of half the blocks. It looks nice that way.
