Checkbook cover

Thanks to all for the very nice comments about my Stacked Coins quilt!

I have been meaning to post this checkbook cover that I made in February. It replaced a basic vinyl one that was tearing. I followed Kristine's tutorial, which was also featured on the Sew, Mama, Sew! blog. Her directions were spot on and easy to follow. I left off the elastic closure, but it stays closed just fine. I mostly wanted to fussy cut my favorite Joel Dewberry Aviary print, and I have just enough fabric left over to make a tote bag. I love using up my scraps.

I found a flickr photo of a similar idea for a passport cover. Hmm...another possible project for the list.

That is so lovely! I just bought a new checkbook cover and I could have made my own.

how funny, Kristine's my cousin! I'll have to let her know you used her tutorial. It looks great in the Joel Dewberry Fabric! I can't wait for his home dec line to come out...
